I will overwhelm 'serious boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two time world title holder Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually known for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather attacked former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, consistently making huge paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old anticipated a KO victory in round four or five and stated he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Physical Difference

As both boxers met for the usual face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is really proceeding.
