'People are afraid' - the reasons 'juggernaut' Arsenal are the team to beat.

There's no doubt why Arsenal are now countless pundits' preferred choice to secure the Premier League this season.

Examine their results against Fulham and Crystal Palace in contrast with those identical matches last season.

The Gunners have overcome all of them this time around, but surrendered 10 points across those games as they faded in the title race previously.

Defensive Prowess

Arsenal's defensive strength is a key reason why they are seeming ready to finally fulfil their title ambition.

They rank top for unbreached games (6), shots let in (3), opposition efforts (72), shots on target faced (19) and anticipated concessions (5.3).

The central defensive pairing of Gabriel and William Saliba is arguably the strongest in the league, with Arsenal maintaining a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Set-Piece Proficiency

Their effectiveness from free kicks is highly documented, but competing clubs still find it difficult to stop the Gunners from these chances.

They have notched 11 times from set-pieces in the league, two more than any other side, with 69% of their goals resulting from these situations.

"Arsenal can excel in various aspects now. The whole team has a intimidation presence. People are just wary of them and it is great to see."

Championship Claims

What is particularly impressive about Arsenal's commencement to the campaign is they have also played Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United away from home and Manchester City in their own stadium - and are still leading by four at the top.

While they continue triumphing, their long-standing opponents aren't faring so well. This marks the initial occasion at this juncture of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The expectations was on head coach Mikel Arteta at the outset, having invested around £250m on eight summer additions in search of that coveted first title since 2004.

But the investment has so far proven successful in impressive fashion, with his side one of the most prolific attacks in the league and boasting the tightest defense, despite several injuries.

  • Clean sheets in three straight Premier League games
  • 385 minutes without allowing a goal
  • Only three goals in 12 games across all competitions

Former players and pundits have characterized Arteta's men as a "powerhouse, looking hard to stop" with the whole club now functioning with belief and determination.
