Alongside Paul M, he is alleged to have arranged instruction courses where radical left activists trained in fighting methods and simulated violent actions. At depots managed by Paul M, the group reportedly stockpiled hammers, pepper spray, concealment items and communication devices.

Previous convictions and global responses

A different activist formerly involved with the organization, Lina E., emerged as a cause celebre within some far-left activist circles following her conviction in 2023 for attacks on presumed far-right targets.

America's terrorist listing renders organization affiliates ineligible to enter the United States, blocks financial holdings they could possess within the American economy and criminalizes providing material support to them.

The German right-wing AfD party applauded the American move and urged the government in Berlin to take similar action. In contrast, the German foreign ministry simply stated it had “taken note” of the American classification.

“The threat posed by the organization has recently decreased significantly. The ringleaders and most aggressive participants have either received convictions or are in custody.”
