It's a challenge for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a side that has won it all.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the highest in the female 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the bowling attack that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It is hard for their hitters to hold a record if not afforded the opportunity.

Finally, the result of Australia allowing 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy receiving a chance to create her newest gem.

Originally famous as the young family member of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after Australia couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has seen it all through 15 successful years since.

A T20 World Cup win came three months after her debut and seven world titles have followed from 10 attempts across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India temporarily stopped the winning streak.

That loss "drove us to reevaluate our levels," Healy said this week.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the final and was declared player of the series. She made sure her country would not come up short.

If this latest epic knock exceeded that prior achievement remains open for discussion.

Many contend the case for championship match pressure. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when facing a record target and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's clear is this hundred was much more difficult to see coming.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this innings came after six matches in India over the past few weeks in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in training, it has been a disappointing period because it appeared I lacked timing completely," commented Healy.

"Yet the moment you take the field, your competitive instincts activate and you simply focus on the contest."

Healy's fighting spirit has consistently been her key asset - and a priceless quality in succeeding iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the 22-year-old seamer in all three matches, but here that only provided Healy's inspiration.

One run resulted off Gaud's first delivery and from there the right-hander was underway.

"An opportunity to go out there and face the challenge with her and just have a bit of fun that way, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 balls - her quickest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 balls as she punished short deliveries, hitting 21 fours and three sixes.

When she was removed her side needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I'm pleased we have the assurance to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, if necessary, we believe we can achieve it."

Those words will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this World Cup should hear.

During the last week a feeling they will win from any position has only strengthened - this victory following win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in ten days, by which point a last-four spot may probably be guaranteed.

During that phase they left the prior year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to torn tissue in her foot as she led her country for the first time at an important competition.

Such is her determination, she subsequently stated she wished she had played through the pain.

Yet even as she subsequently acknowledged those fitness problems have pushed back thoughts of retirement, this championship is expected to be her concluding event as leader in 50-over cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a global event as captain.

Victory in India would bring her to the top of her ultimate challenge.
